A new community in Gippsland

Let's build better together.

Meet people starting or growing a business nearby. Share what you know and help each other succeed.

Help shape the first gathering.

Someone to talk it through with

You might be working out what to charge, looking for a first customer or wondering whether an idea is worth pursuing. It helps to talk with someone who understands what starting a business is like.

Gippsland Founders is forming to make those conversations easier to find locally. Ask a question, share something you've learned or offer a hand with someone else's problem.

You don't need a finished product or a business plan to take part.

What we can help each other with

The businesses will be different. Some of the questions will be familiar.

01

People in your corner

Get to know other people working on ideas and businesses in Gippsland. Find a sounding board, a collaborator or someone to swap notes with over coffee.

02

Help with the tricky bits

Finding a first customer, pricing an offer or deciding what to build next. Bring the question you're stuck on and work through it with people who see things differently.

03

A little help goes both ways

Share something that's worked, make an introduction or give useful feedback. You don't have to be an expert to help someone take their next step.

This community is taking shape. The people who join can help decide what comes next.

Getting together

A coffee, a shared table or an afternoon working on our own projects together. The idea is simple: make time to connect, talk honestly about the work and help each other make progress.

Be part of the first conversations

First gatherings are still being shaped. Locations and dates will follow once we know who's interested.

What getting together could look like

01

Meet over a coffee

Put faces to names. Talk about what you're building, what you're curious about and where you could use a hand.

02

Bring something to work through

An early idea, a rough prototype or a business challenge. Get a fresh perspective and offer one in return.

03

Keep each other moving

Make space to work on your business alongside others. Share progress, follow up on a conversation and celebrate the small wins.

No perfect pitch required. Just a willingness to take part.

Who can take part?

You don't need a registered company, investment or a finished product. You need an interest in building something and a willingness to help others along the way.

There's room for you here

"I have an idea."

Explore whether it could become a business. Find people to talk it through with, before you have all the answers.

"I'm getting something started."

You're building a side project, starting a business or looking for your first customers. Get some company for the early days.

"I've been at it a while."

Bring your experience, meet new collaborators and work through your next challenge. There is always more to learn.

Questions about joining

Do I need to have a business already?

No. You might be exploring an idea, starting a side project or wondering if running a business is for you. Aspiring founders are just as welcome as people already running a business.

Is this just for tech startups?

No. You're welcome whether you're building software, a product, a service or something else entirely. The common ground is wanting to build a business and help others do the same.

Is this a formal startup program?

The starting point is a community: getting together, sharing what we know and helping each other. There isn't a scheduled program or cohort to apply for. More structured startup support can develop around what people need.

Where will the community meet?

The community is for people across Gippsland. Locations, formats and dates aren't set yet. Early interest will help shape gatherings that work for the people taking part.

What does it cost?

Membership and gathering arrangements are still being worked out. Any costs will be made clear before you commit to anything.
